Cole Custer and Haas Factory Team delivered another strong performance on Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway, charging from 26th on the starting grid to an 11th-place finish in the No. 41 Bonanza Wines Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Custer’s effort marks his second top-11 result in the last three weeks, including a 10th-place finish under the lights at Daytona International Speedway on August 29.
Custer steadily worked his way through the field throughout the race’s 247 laps, gaining 15 positions and narrowly missing a Top-10 finish while holding off Brad Keselowski as the pair crossed the finish line in overtime.
The performance was particularly encouraging for a team that has worked throughout the season to improve its results on short tracks. Custer and the No. 41 team remained competitive throughout the afternoon, capitalizing on adjustments and consistent execution to move to the front of the field.
“It was a solid day at WWTR for us. The short track package for our team has been really tough this year, so for us, that was definitely a good result,” Custer said. “Our guys worked at it all day, and hopefully we found something that we can take with us in the future. It was awesome having Bonanza Wines on our car this weekend, and a huge thank you to everyone back at the engine shop.”
Sunday’s race provided another strong showcase for Bonanza Wines and its partnership with Haas Factory Team. The Bonanza livery adorned the No. 41 throughout the weekend as Custer delivered a determined drive in a race that spanned four hours in length.
The partnership brings together two brands built around craftsmanship, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering results. Bonanza Wines, part of the Wagner Family of Wine, continues to use its NASCAR program with Haas Factory Team to introduce the brand to race fans nationwide.
Next up for Haas Factory Team will be close-quarters racing action at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile for race number 28 of the NASCAR Cup Series season.
Cole Custer and the No. 41 Texas A&M University Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will hit the track at Bristol Motor Speedway for the weekend’s opening practice session on Friday, September 18, at 4:30 p.m. ET. Qualifying will follow at 5:40 p.m. ET.
The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is on Saturday, September 19, and it will be televised live on USA beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Performance Racing Network (PRN) will carry the live radio broadcast, along with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
