Felix Rosenqvist capped a memorable 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season with a fourth-place finish Sunday at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, bringing to a close a year highlighted by victory in the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 and several marquee moments alongside Texas A&M University.
Sunday’s result secured ‘FRO’ his fifth top-five finish of the season and ninth place in the final NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship standings. Rosenqvist concluded the 18-race campaign with one victory, two pole positions, five top-five finishes, seven top-10 finishes and 168 laps led.
The season’s defining moment came on May 24 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where Rosenqvist captured his first Indianapolis 500 win in dramatic fashion. Starting fourth, Rosenqvist led 25 laps and defeated David Malukas by just 0.0233 seconds, the closest finish in the more than century-long history of the Indianapolis 500.
Texas A&M was prominently represented throughout Rosenqvist’s historic win, with the university featured on his helmet, uniform, and on the tire ramps of the race-winning No. 60 Honda. The helmet placement also provided Texas A&M with valuable visibility through Rosenqvist’s onboard camera during one of the most consequential moments of his career.
“Winning the Indianapolis 500 made this a season I’ll remember for the rest of my life, and it was really special to have Texas A&M along for that journey,” Rosenqvist said. “This is our second year together, and the relationship has continued to grow into something that means a lot to me. From carrying Texas A&M on my helmet throughout the season, to racing in their colors in Arlington and Washington, D.C., and then having them with us when we won at Indianapolis, we shared some incredible moments. I’m very proud of what we accomplished together and grateful for the support of everyone at Texas A&M.”
The 2026 season represented a significant expansion of the relationship between Texas A&M and Rosenqvist.
At the March 15 INDYCAR event on the streets of Arlington, Texas A&M joined SEC Network as a hybrid primary sponsor of Rosenqvist’s No. 60 Honda. Rosenqvist also wore a specially painted Texas A&M helmet created by Troy Lee Designs, providing another distinctive visual representation of the partnership during INDYCAR’s highly anticipated inaugural event in North Texas.
Five months later, Texas A&M took center stage in the nation’s capital. For the Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C., on Aug. 23, Texas A&M served as the full primary sponsor of Rosenqvist’s No. 60 Honda, which featured a patriotic design built around a message: Together, We Stand as a Force for Good. The car combined Texas A&M’s iconic maroon with red, white and blue and American flag-inspired graphics. Rosenqvist again wore a custom Texas A&M helmet created by Troy Lee Designs.
Between those marquee events, Texas A&M maintained a consistent presence throughout the 18-race NTT INDYCAR SERIES season, appearing on Rosenqvist’s helmet, firesuit and the tire ramps of the No. 60 Honda. This provided season-long exposure across INDYCAR broadcasts, digital platforms and race weekends.
The program built upon Texas A&M’s inaugural season with Rosenqvist in 2025, evolving in its second year from a season-long branding and engagement platform into a partnership connected to some of the defining moments of the 2026 INDYCAR season.
The checkered flag at Laguna Seca also marked the conclusion of Rosenqvist’s three-year tenure with Meyer Shank Racing. In 2027, he moves to Arrow McLaren.
“It’s been an incredible year and an emotional way to finish my time with Meyer Shank Racing,” Rosenqvist said. “We accomplished something together that will always connect us, and I’ll never forget standing in the Winner’s Circle at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I’m thankful to everyone at MSR, all of our partners and everyone who supported us over the last three seasons. There are a lot of memories from these three years that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my career.”
