Notes of Interest
● Cole Custer is coming off a strong Memorial Day weekend, where he threatened for the win and collected a strong 16th-place finish in the Coca-Cola 600, a crown jewel race on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar.
● Custer and members of Haas Factory Team kicked off the Nashville race weekend yesterday by visiting the headquarters of Standard Nuclear, a team partner and the only nuclear energy company in NASCAR. The group learned about Standard Nuclear’s role in powering America safely and reliably.
● On Sunday, Nashville Superspeedway hosts its sixth-ever NASCAR Cup Series race since returning to the schedule in 2021.
● Each team gets 10 sets of Goodyear Racing Eagle tires for the race (9 new race sets plus one set transferred from qualifying). The tire setup for this weekend features the same left- and right-side tire combinations used in last weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This marks the sixth time Cup Series teams have raced this setup this season, following races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Kansas Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, and Charlotte.
By the Numbers
● Custer makes his fourth NASCAR Cup Series start at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend, where he owns a 25.0 average finish. His best result came last season when he finished 19th after starting 29th.
● He has one top-10 start at the 1.33-mile oval, rolling off seventh in 2021, and a 17.7 average starting position at the track.
● Custer has also recorded two top-10 finishes in two O’Reilly Series starts at Nashville and qualified on the pole in 2023.
