● This weekend marks the fourth INDYCAR SERIES race held on the nine-turn, 1.645-mile downtown Detroit street circuit and the 36th INDYCAR SERIES race held in the Motor City. A 2.5-mile street circuit in downtown Detroit hosted CART events from 1989-91 before the event moved to Belle Isle Park in 1992.

● Following his historic Indianapolis 500 victory, Felix participated in 50+ national media interviews and appearances during the week, including a whirlwind trip to New York City, generating extensive exposure across television, digital, social media, and motorsports news platforms. He also had his picture featured on the Times Square video boards and, upon his arrival in Detroit on Thursday, he threw out the first pitch at the Tigers game.

● Felix Rosenqvist earned the nickname ‘Papa FRO’ on May 4, when his wife Emille gave birth to their first child, a baby girl named Stella.

Felix Rosenqvist, No. 60 SiriusXM Honda

You and your wife, Emille, welcomed your daughter, Stella, to the world on May 4, and you won the closest Indianapolis 500 in history on May 24. What has this month been like?

“It’s been the most overwhelming month of my life. It’s been an incredible experience with unbelievable emotions. I am just so lucky to be a part of this team, Meyer Shank Racing, and to have the opportunity to celebrate a success like this with them. They deserve this so much.”

You have had a busy week, but now turn your focus to Detroit. Will the week’s activities impact you as you hit the track for practice and qualifying?

“I think it’s quite obvious that something like this is going to affect you. Sleep has been at a minimum. I’ve just been trying to take it all in. Detroit will be a special race in special circumstances, but I couldn’t return to the track a happier man.”
