Notes of Interest

● At Barber this weekend, Felix Rosenqvist will run a special livery celebrating 10 years of SiriusXM and Kenny Chesney’s No Shoes Radio.

● The Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix comes after the Grand Prix of Arlington on March 15, where Texas A&M University captured the lion’s share of the media and on-site coverage as the primary sponsor of Rosenqvist’s No. 60 Honda. Draped in Aggie Maroon, the car was omnipresent on television, at-track videoboards and social media.

● This weekend’s event at Barber Motorsports Park represents the fourth NTT INDYCAR SERIES race in the past 29 days, which is noteworthy. It’s been 50-plus years since the series was this active in March, and in the past decade, only July has hosted as many events across different locations.

● Twenty-two of the 25 drivers entered this weekend have competed in NTT INDYCAR SERIES races at Barber Motorsports Park. Twelve of the drivers have led laps, including Rosenqvist.

● In addition to its primary sponsorship of the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing entry in Arlington, Texas A&M University continues as a partner of Felix Rosenqvist for the 2026 season, riding along on his helmet for the second consecutive year. Designed specifically for how INDYCAR is televised, the helmet placement is intended to show up repeatedly on FOX’s onboard cameras and tight close-up coverage, placing Texas A&M inside the broadcast during moments of performance, pressure and decision-making across 18 race weekends.

By the Numbers

● Rosenqvist is competing in his eighth season of INDYCAR competition, and his third for Meyer Shank Racing.

● Rosenqvist has established himself as one of INDYCAR’s premier qualifiers on road and street circuits, earning multiple pole positions and front-row starts at technical venues including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and Long Beach. He has been a consistent Fast Six qualifier on road and street circuits.

● Push-to-Pass Parameters: 200 seconds of total time with a maximum time of 20 seconds per activation. Push-to-pass is not available on the initial start or any restart unless it occurs in the final two laps or three minutes of a timed race.

● Drivers receive unlimited hybrid energy deployment activation, with a maximum deployment of 385 kilojoules (kj) per lap.

● Firestone Tire Allotment: Each team receives five sets of primary tires and five sets of alternate tires to be used during the event weekend. Teams must use one set of primary and one set of new (sticker) alternate tires for at least two laps during the race.

Felix Rosenqvist, No. 60 Honda

Your season kicked off with two street circuits and an oval, so this weekend’s road course at Barber presents something new. What’s your approach?

“I’m excited for the first road course of the season. Barber was one of the main circuits I needed to improve on from last year, so we’ve spent a lot of time and effort preparing specifically for this race. After a challenging start to the season, below the standards I set for myself, I’m very motivated to return up front with some fresh energy.”
