Acrisure Protection Group (APG), part of global fintech leader Acrisure, proudly announces the extension of its partnership with NASCAR Cup Series driver Casey Mears as he closes in on 500 NASCAR Cup Series starts. APG, and its market leading KARR Security program, will appear as a major associate sponsor on Mears’ No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 beginning with the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26 and culminating with Mears’ 500th Cup start at the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 8.
Mears will also pilot the No. 62 The Gracie Foundation Chevrolet at the Brickyard 400 on July 26 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Coke Zero Sugar 400 on August 29 at Daytona International Speedway, and the YellaWood 500 on October 25 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Acrisure Protection Group offers business and insurance solutions to approximately 3,000 automotive dealer clients nationally. APG helped kick off Mears’ journey to 500 NASCAR Cup Series starts in March 2025 when the Bakersfield, Calif., native made his Cup Series comeback at Martinsville Speedway. Mears now sits just five starts removed from the coveted milestone.
“We believe in backing people who are driven to achieve something meaningful,” said Vernon Leake, CEO of APG. “Casey Mears exemplifies that spirit, and this extended partnership — from Talladega to Homestead — gives us the opportunity to celebrate a truly historic moment alongside him, our dealer clients, and the NASCAR community.”
500 NASCAR Cup Series starts would be a fitting addition to Mears’ distinguished resume. Only 47 drivers in NASCAR history have eclipsed the mark, with the only active drivers being Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Michael McDowell.
“I’m grateful to have Acrisure Protection Group alongside me for the journey to 500 Cup starts,” said Mears. “Their support means a lot, and I’m proud to be associated with an innovative company that is forward-thinking and a leader in its industry. I’m excited to kick things off at Talladega and build momentum throughout the season.”
Beard Motorsports shares Mears’ excitement about the partnership.
“It is humbling to be able to welcome a brand like Acrisure Protection Group to Beard Motorsports and have them be a part of this program with Casey,” said Amie Beard-Deja, executive vice president of Beard Motorsports. “We have been very fortunate to have some amazing companies partner with us during the last 10 years. Acrisure is the latest brand to join that list and it means a lot to my family and our team. Their commitment to Casey and our No. 62 Beard Motorsports Team is exciting and we are thrilled to be the vehicle to get him to 500 career NASCAR Cup Series starts.”
