Felix Rosenqvist delivered a standout performance at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach over the weekend, first capturing the NTT P1 award on Saturday before posting a hard-fought second-place finish on the iconic Southern California street circuit on Sunday.
Rosenqvist recorded his seventh career NTT INDYCAR SERIES pole and Meyer Shank Racing’s second on Saturday when he paced the scenic street course with a lap that lasted a brief 1 minute, 7.4635 seconds. It marked his second pole in three years at Long Beach.
On Sunday, Rosenqvist led the field to green and maintained a strong pace throughout the 90-lap race, navigating the tight confines of the 1.968-mile, 11-turn temporary street circuit with relative ease. The speedy Swede was dominant from the drop of the green flag, leading the race’s first 31 laps.
Rosenqvist remained firmly in contention from start to finish, and only a late-race caution would complicate his day. After leading 51 total laps, he secured Meyer Shank Racing’s best result of the season with a second-place finish, earning valuable championship points. Rosenqvist’s effort netted him a five-position jump in the standings, where he is now ninth.
“It was a really strong weekend for us,” said Rosenqvist. “Starting on pole and finishing P2 shows the pace we have right now. Of course, you always want the win, but we executed well, stayed competitive all race, and gave ourselves a great result. First podium of the year, lots of points, and a competitive performance throughout. That’s where we want to be heading into the Month of May. Big thanks to everyone at Meyer Shank Racing, Acura and Honda for a massive effort all weekend.”
The podium finish continues a wave of momentum for Rosenqvist, who demonstrated front-running speed across all sessions in Long Beach, one of the most prestigious and technically demanding events on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES calendar.
