● After suffering the tragic loss of NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, the sport visits Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series is set for the famed Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday night. Teams will be honoring the late two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion with decals featuring his number ‘8″.
● NASCAR Salutes begins on Memorial Day Weekend, anchored by a special tribute called “600 Miles of Remembrance,” where every Cup Series car in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 will feature the name of a fallen service member on the windshield.
● Each team gets 13 sets of Goodyear Racing Eagle tires for the race (12 new race sets plus one set transferred from qualifying). Teams will also receive five sets of wet-weather tires (four new race sets plus one set transferred from qualifying).

● Cole Custer will make his sixth Cup Series start at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, where he holds an 18.6 average finish. His best result at the track came in 2020 with a 12th-place finish, and he has never finished worse than 21st at the 1.5-mile facility.
● He has one top-10 starting spot at Charlotte, qualifying a career-best ninth in 2020, and carries a 22.0 average starting position.
