TY DILLON AND THE GECKO ARRIVE IN DAYTONA WITH 2020 VISION

Daytona Beach, FL (February 7, 2020) - Germain Racing's NASCAR Cup Series success on superspeedways has been well-documented and celebrated. In fact, only Hendrick Motorsports matches the GEICO team's active streak of top-10 finishes at Daytona International Speedway. A year ago, Ty Dillon nearly visited Victory Lane at the World Center of Racing when he hustled to sixth-place and fourth-place finishes in the two races at Daytona.

2019 was just Dillon's third year of Cup Series competition and he recorded multiple stage wins, a top-five finish, three top-10's, nine top-15's and 16 top-20's. Equally impressive is that Dillon was one of just two drivers to not record a single DNF (did not finish) during the grueling 36-race NASCAR Cup Series season. In all categories, the GEICO team either equaled or improved upon their 2017 and 2018 performances.

As Dillon and the GEICO team ready for this year's Daytona 500, the group enters the season-opener with tremendous optimism, as well as a new paint scheme for their No. 13 GEICO Chevrolet. Crew chief, Matt Borland remains at the helm for the young gun and much of the team remains intact. The Germain Racing crew spent the vast majority of the off-season working overtime in their Welcome, NC, race shop to help ensure improvement over a successful 2019 campaign.

Practice and qualifying lie ahead this weekend, with the Duels scheduled for February 13th. Dillon and company aim to arrive on the Daytona 500 starting grid in an intact and aerodynamically undisturbed No. 13 GEICO Camaro ZL1 1LE. Superspeedway cars are aero dependent, so escaping practice, qualifying and the Duel race unscathed is of the utmost importance.

While the young gun will undoubtedly be heavy on the gas starting with practice on Saturday afternoon, the team's past racing success at Daytona will leave the driver measured, as his goal is to begin the Daytona 500 with a clean GEICO Chevy.

"It's exciting to be back at Daytona to start another season. Matt (Borland, crew chief) and all of the guys on our Germain team have been working overtime during the off-season to not only bring a really fast GEICO Chevrolet to the track this weekend, but to prepare us for the long stretch," Dillon said. "We will get a feel for the car's handling and speed in the two practice sessions on Saturday and then post a solid lap on Sunday during single-car qualifying. Everyone, including myself, is ready to build on the improvements we made last year and keep taking steps to make our program even better. I think this season is going to be our best yet."

Ty Dillon and the No. 13 GEICO Camaro ZL1 1LE will hit the track at Daytona International Speedway for the season's opening practice session on Saturday, February 8th, at 1:35 PM (ET). Daytona 500 qualifying will follow on Sunday at 12:30 PM (ET).

The Bluegreen Vacations Duels will take place on Thursday, February 13th, and will be televised live on FS1 beginning at 7 PM (ET). The Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, will have the live radio broadcast.

The Daytona 500 is on Sunday, February 16th, and it will be televised live on FOX beginning at 2:30 PM (ET). The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will carry the live radio broadcast, along with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
