Max Papis to compete in the Rolex 24 at Daytona with Team Mastercar

Miami, FL (December 15, 2008) - Max Papis, who in 2009 will be behind the wheel of the #13 GEICO Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with Germain Racing, will open the season driving a Ferrari. Max will participate in the Grand-Am Rolex 24 at Daytona, piloting a F430 for Team Mastercar.

“I am happy to be back at Daytona with a Ferrari. My career in USA began in 1996 racing for Team MOMO in the official Ferrari 333SP. After many years of experience, it will be nice to be part of the Daytona 24 with Mario Crugnola, owner of Team Mastercar, who is also from my hometown in Italy, Varese”, said Papis. “The Ferrari 430 has proved to be a very quick car and I am looking forward to winning the Rolex 24 for a third time. It will be very special to me since my last victory I was also behind the wheel of another Italian car, a Dallara. I am very excited about this event which will mark my 20th participation in a 24 hour race”, Max added.

Team Mastercar’s driver lineup will include Christian Montanari, Luca Drudi, Cesar Campanico, Constantino Bertuzzi, and Beppe Gabbiani.

The team is getting ready for the Test Days on January 3rd-5th and Rolex 24 at Daytona Race on January 24th-25th, 2009.
