INDIANAPOLIS - Racing veteran Alex Tagliani will test drive for PKV Racing next month and hopes to land a job as the Champ Car team's second driver.

The Lachenaie, Que., native will drive Feb. 2-4 at Sebring, Fla., for PKV, team general manager Mark Johnson announced Monday.

The 35-year-old Tagliani has finished in the top 10 in the championship the last six seasons. He has one race win at Road America in 2004 in 131 career starts.

"Testing Alex in Sebring will give PKV Racing an opportunity to receive the benefit of his experience as we work through the various projects we have for this test," said Johnson. "In addition, it will give us a chance to see how Alex meshes with our team as we proceed with our search for a second driver."

The team already announced it signed Oriol Servia to drive this season.
