Concord, NC (June 8, 2007) – Chrissy Wallace has won in everything from Legends cars to Thunder Roadsters and now she adds stock cars to her list of accomplishments.

On Saturday,  June 2nd, while her father, NASCAR driver Mike Wallace, was busy with his own racing endeavors in the #7 GEICO Chevrolet in Dover, DE, Chrissy Wallace made history at Hickory Motor Speedway, as she became the first ever female to win a Feature Division – Late Model Stocks event in the track’s 57-year history.

Wallace would qualify 3rd for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Feature Division ‘Bojangles’ Late Model Stocks race before tracking down the race leaders to take the lead with 28 laps to go.  Wallace would be challenged for the win, however she would not succumb to the pressure and would ultimately take the checkered flag and etch her name in the history books at Hickory Motor Speedway.

An emotional Mike Wallace would call his daughter on her cellular phone from Dover, DE.

“It is such an amazing feeling to have your daughter win a race and make history,” Mike Wallace said.  “I’ve had a lot of wins in my career, but they all pale in comparison to Chrissy’s win.  There is no feeling like seeing your daughter do something this remarkable and I am so proud of her.”

Now, as Chrissy Wallace sits with a big win under her belt, she ponders her future and looks forward to ultimately moving to NASCAR’s big three – the Craftsman Truck Series, the Busch Series and the Nextel Cup Series.

“It was very exciting for me, the team and my family to get that win on Saturday night in Hickory, but my main goal is to move to the Truck Series and get some experience and then onto the Busch Series,”  Wallace said.  “I think when females get into racing that people sometimes don’t think they’re serious.  I hope this win lets everyone know that I am serious about what I’m doing…. Very serious.”

Chrissy Wallace will return to action on Saturday, June 9th, at 7:00 PM at Hickory Motor Speedway as she attempts to continue her winning ways.
