Sherman Finds Home at McGill Motorsports

Spartanburg, SC (January 16, 2007)  McGill Motorsports is proud to announce that Brent Sherman will pilot the team’s No. 36 Chevrolet for the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series season.

Sherman, who previously has raced in the NASCAR Busch Series and most recently in the ARCA Series and Nextel Cup Series, is optimistic about the upcoming season and his new home at McGill Motorsports.  “I have spent some time at the race shop getting to know my new crew chief, Ricky Pearson, and the whole team, and I firmly believe that this is the best opportunity for me.  We are all bonding well together and I feel at home with my new team,” Sherman said.  He continued, “I think the basis for a strong season is to start out on the right foot, and that has already begun.”

Crew chief Ricky Pearson agrees with Brent’s assessment.  “Brent has spent enough time here to really help us get to know each other and the way he likes to have his cars set up.  But as importantly, we are getting to know each other on a personal level and not just as driver and crew chief.  Brent has the knowledge and experience about race cars to tell us what he wants out of the cars, and at the track to tell us how the cars are handling.”

Team owner, John McGill, is equally optimistic about his new driver and the 2007 season.  “Brent brings a fresh perspective on competition and the things we can do to keep building a better team.  He and Ricky Pearson are already on the same page and communication between driver and crew chief is invaluable.”  McGill continued, “I feel that with Brent’s great attitude and the race team we have, we will really turn some heads in 2007.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available with Sherman and the No. 36 for the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series season.  Packages are reasonably priced and can be tailored to fit the needs of any company interested from one race to multiple races.  For more information, please contact John McGill at 561/746-1196 or visit www.mcgillmotorsports.com
